Associate Remodeling Designer
We want to be the best company you ever work for.
At Ealy Construction, we don't just build beautiful spaces: we build careers. We're an award-winning design-build remodeling company based in Moscow, Idaho, and we're looking for one Associate Designer to join our team on an accelerated path toward design leadership.
This is not a drafting position or a support role. Over the next five years, the right person will grow into a lead designer for our company: shaping the client experience, directing the pre-construction process, and ultimately owning our design department.
IS THIS YOU?
You're early in your career, but your trajectory is clear. You may only have a few years of experience - what matters most is how you think, how you grow, and how serious you are about becoming exceptional at your craft.
You likely graduated near the top of your Interior Design or Architecture program, or you've built equivalent experience in the field. You have strong design fundamentals and technical precision, and want real responsibility.
If you prefer to avoid client interaction, or work without clear standards and measurable results, this role isn't the right fit. But if you want to lead, to learn from some of the best designers in the region, and to build something lasting in a community you can put down roots in, we'd love to hear from you.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
A degree or certificate in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent real-world experience.
Strong drafting fundamentals and 3D modeling capability.
Experience with Chief Architect or similar software is a plus, as is comfort with Google Suite.
A genuine motivation to understand how construction works, not just how design looks.
More than anything, we value trajectory. We care less about your years of experience and more about how quickly you grow and how seriously you take your craft.
WHAT WOULD MY CAREER LOOK LIKE?
During your first two years, you'll work closely alongside our senior designers, learning how we translate client conversations into detailed, build-ready design solutions. You'll attend initial consultations, conduct LiDAR scans and field measurements, produce conceptual layouts and proposal visuals, and develop your eye for the full arc of a project from first meeting to finished space.
On the technical side, you'll produce accurate as-built drawings, draft floorplans, elevations, and 3D models in Chief Architect, coordinate material samples and vendor communication, and assist in developing permit-ready drawing sets. You'll work in close collaboration with our project managers to keep design grounded in construction reality.
Within 12 to 18 months, you'll begin leading defined portions of client consultations independently.
As you grow into the role, you'll take on progressively more ownership: leading smaller projects independently, running consultations from first meeting through pre-construction, and refining the internal systems and standards that define our design process. By year five, the expectation is that you are capable of leading the design department.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay Range: Starting at $20-$25/hr depending on experience. Salary grows with responsibility. As you transition into leadership, your compensation will reflect that transition.
PTO: Paid time off and paid company holidays
Retirement: 401k with company match after one year
WHAT’S IT LIKE TO WORK HERE?
We are a small, high-performance team of ten people. You'll work directly alongside the people who make decisions, and your contributions will be visible and valued from day one.
We hire for a long-term career fit. Most of our employees work here for many years and plan on long careers here. We want you to love coming to work, and we invest in making that possible.
These are our company values:
Three Loves: This isn't just a job; it's a calling. Our actions show that we love our team, clients, and work. Our commitment to care is the bedrock of our success.
