Our clients sought to transform their home’s dated 1990’s transitional interior into a bright, clean, and modern living space. They really disliked the bull-nose drywall corners, baseboards, and overall dated aesthetic.

The scope of the project included the first-floor living room, dining room, staircase, and bedrooms, with updated flooring throughout, new windows, and a new fireplace. The objective was to create a sleek, contemporary aesthetic while maintaining the same layout and functionality of the existing space.

Half-wall stair railings were replaced with new oak and metal newels and balusters, delivering a clean, minimalist look. LVP flooring with a modern wood aesthetic was installed throughout, creating visual continuity between the railings, furniture, and brown accents in the space.

The fireplace area was fully re-framed, with a custom fireplace mantel and new fireplace installed. The rounded windows adjacent to the fireplace were removed and replaced with squared off windows. A new chandelier was installed to better match the new aesthetic of the space.

A consistent, soothing, and modern color palette was throughout the space, with matching brown tones carried through the flooring, stairway railings, and furniture. Our clients have great design sense and used blue as an accent color through each room. The front door and entryway was also painted grey to complement the living room couch and dining room accent walls.

New light fixtures were installed in the living room, dining room, and along the hallways.

New LVP flooring was carried along the entire length of the home, replacing the warm oak flooring that was installed when the home was built. The rounded bullnose drywall corners and rounded base trim were replaced with square drywall corners and square trim to match.

A custom mantel was built and installed along with the new chimney wall.

Completed on time and on budget, the finished space feels clean, bright, and is beautifully decorated.
