We’re looking for a seasoned, thoughtful, and detail-driven Designer to lead residential remodeling and construction design projects for our national award-winning design-build team. In this role, you'll take point on client design development, collaborate with our production team, and ensure every plan is ready to build - with beauty, function, and code compliance in mind.

Compensation:
$60,000–$80,000+ annual salary, based on experience
2 weeks PTO/Vacation

Moscow Idaho & Pullman Washington, two beautiful college towns in the Pacific Northwest.
Main Responsibilities:
As Designer / Draftsman at Ealy Construction, you’ll lead clients through the design process (from initial concept to construction-ready plans) developing detailed drawings, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring designs meet budget, code, and aesthetic goals. This role requires 10+ years of residential remodeling experience, proficiency in Chief Architect or Design 2020, and strong communication and project coordination skills.
Minimum Requirements:
What skills and experience do I need?
10+ years of experience in residential remodeling design, ideally in a design-build environment
Strong proficiency in Chief Architect and/or Design 2020
Deep knowledge of residential construction, cabinetry, building codes and standards
Clear, confident communication with clients, vendors, and project teams
Experience sourcing materials and coordinating with showrooms and manufacturers
Familiarity with Buildertrend or other project management software
Fluency with Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Gmail) and file organization
Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent design projects and meet deadlines
A positive, proactive, collaborative mindset—you anticipate needs and take ownership

Specific Duties:
As Designer / Draftsman at Ealy Construction, you’ll be responsible for:
Leading design meetings with clients to understand their goals, frustrations, aesthetic preferences, and functional needs
Preparing accurate as-built drawings based on site visits, Canvas scans, and manual measurements
Developing detailed floorplans, elevations, and 3D renderings in Chief Architect and Design 2020
Presenting initial concepts, refining designs, and finalizing construction-ready plans based on feedback and constraints
Ensuring designs align with project budgets, code requirements, and field conditions
Coordinating closely with project managers to review feasibility, buildability, and scheduling considerations
Guiding clients through material selection with supplier support, value-engineering as needed
Coordinating with cabinet manufacturers and verifying all design specs match supplier systems
Preparing permit-ready drawing sets and coordinating revisions with city planning as needed
Organizing and uploading plans, selections, and communication records into Buildertrend
Supporting the team with material ordering and ensuring selections are documented for procurement
