Event Guidelines & Etiquette
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please keep the following guidelines in mind during the tour:
Respect the Homes: We are guests in each featured home. Please do not touch furniture, cabinetry, decor, or surfaces. Look as much as you like, but refrain from handling items or opening doors/drawers unless invited.
Shoe Covers: Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Some homes may ask you to remove shoes or use provided shoe covers to protect flooring – no bare feet inside homes, please. We’ll have disposable booties available at each location.
Children: While families are welcome, be advised that strollers are not allowed inside the homes (you may need to carry infants or have toddlers walk with you). Young children must remain with parents at all times. For their safety and to protect the homes, we kindly urge you to use discretion when deciding to bring children.
No Pets: Only certified service animals are allowed on the tour. Pets should be left at home.
Food & Drink: We’ll provide snacks and beverages for you outside or in designated areas of the homes. No outside food or drinks should be brought into the homes, and please do not carry our refreshments into carpeted areas or other interior spaces. Enjoy them where hosts direct you, and dispose of trash in provided bins.
Photography: Feel free to take photos for personal inspiration! However, please avoid including any homeowners’ personal items in your shots. If a particular area is marked no photography, kindly refrain from taking pictures there.
Stay on Path: Some homes will have clearly marked paths or areas open for viewing. Please stay within the designated tour areas and do not enter closed rooms or areas marked off-limits. This helps respect homeowner privacy.
Safety: Watch your step on stairs or uneven ground. Use railings where provided. Do not climb on or lean over balcony railings or ledges. If an area seems crowded, wait for others to move along rather than pushing into tight spaces. Your safety is important, and you assume all risk by choosing to participate in the tour.
Courtesy: Be mindful of other attendees. If a room is busy, circle back rather than overcrowd it. Keep conversations at a friendly volume. We encourage questions to our team, but please be patient if they are addressing another guest.
Follow Instructions: Our team members (and any volunteer docents) will be present to guide you – please follow any on-site instructions or signs (e.g., “Please Remove Shoes” or “Do Not Enter – Private”). Each home may have slight variations in rules, and we appreciate your cooperation.
Thank you for understanding these guidelines. They help us showcase these homes in the best condition and ensure everyone has a pleasant experience. If you have any questions or need assistance during the tour, just ask one of our Ealy Construction hosts – we’re happy to help!
